Poker Pro Profile: Tobias Reinkemeier

Tobias Reinkemeier is one of the top young poker players in the game today. Born and raised in Germany he has followed the path that most young players follow, start by playing with friends before moving onto huge success at online games. Reinkemeier however is different in that he has also been able to translate his huge online success to success in live tournaments. Something that a lot of online players struggle to do.

The most amazing thing about Tobias Reinkemeier’s rise as a poker player is that he managed to do it without having to spend any of his own money. After having gained little bit of experience playing in fun games with his friend he started playing online. The site he joined was offering fifty dollar credits as a way to get people to sign up and Reinkemeier took that fifty dollars and grew it into an online bankroll of several million dollars.

In the early days Reinkemeier played in low stakes games but he was able to win consistently enough that he saw his bankroll continue to rise. Eventually he would get to the point where he was able to start playing for higher stakes. He continued to have success at this level so he moved on to playing in tournaments. He quickly proved that he was as good at tournament play as he had been in cash games as he won several of them. At this point the only thing that Reinkemeier had left to accomplish was to start playing in live games. This is something that he did at the European Poker Tour event in Dortmund.

The first live tournament that Reinkemeier entered was the EPT event in Dortmund and he promptly won this event. This would lead to a whole series of other live tournaments that he would play in with results that would prove to be equally good. Has had wins in several smaller tournaments around Germany and has had money finishes at a couple of major events. He is quickly building a reputation as a top tournament player to go with the one that he already has as a top online player.

The future of Tobias Reinkemeier is very bright, he has already won millions of dollars and has achieved success in both live tournaments and online. The only real question is just where does he want to go with his career. A lot of great online players have entered a few live events had some success and then go back to playing most of their poker online. This is certainly one option for Reinkemeier. If however he wants to become known as one of the true greats of the game he is going to have to continue to play live tournaments and prove that he can win the big ones.

Jonathan Abdellatif of Alosta Rounders Fame’s EPT Dip

Jonathan AbdellatifBelgian poker star Jonathan Abdellatif (member of the infamous Alosta Rounders crew, based in Flanders, Belgium) had an extremely interesting run in the European Poker Tour (EPT) main event in Deauville this year. Quickly accumulating a lot of chips on day 1A, Jonathan Abdellatif quickly found himself as the big chip leader in the tournament after both first day sessions had been completed (putting him ahead of big names including Dave ‘The Devilfish’ Ulliott.

It was both a combination of hitting big hands and playing them like the poker genius he is that put him in that spot, which he held for quite some time in day two too.

He ended up finishing in the money, somewhat disappointed though after losing a gigantic pot on a bluff and just after running his KK into AA.

No disaster for Jonathan Abdellatif though, we’re sure to see him on the international poker circuit again very soon — and we’ll be here reporting!

Vicky Coren interviewed at EPT Baden

It’s an extremely short interview, but I think it’s valueable as it shows Vicky Coren in a way we all love — the gracious poker-woman, talking about why she’s relaxed after winning the London EPT and showing she’s just a true nice girl… Not greedy, just a good, solid poker player feeling relaxed, hoping to cash. She’s awesome!

Does the economic crisis affect the Casino world

The question is will the the economic crisis affect the online Casino Market or the online Poker Market. The answer will probably be yes. You can already see the effects in the land based Casino. The Poker players stay away from the the casinos and the gamblers stay more at home or keep there winning instead of gambling them again.

In the Online Casinos and online Poker rooms there is not a big setback yet but maybe it will come very soon. The casinos en ligne and the poker online rooms have to put overlays on the tournaments. There are far less players that register in a Casino online or Poker on line room even though nothing changed to the online casino bonussen. So the deutsche online casino also feels the effect of the economic crisis and they will react. The normal Casino are already giving rooms away for free and the online casinos will give more money away in the future.

So if you wanna play in a online casino or online poker room the now if the chance to win some big money.
