Pai Gow Strategy
I like the table games but I usually end up throwing my poker winnings out of the door by playing blackjack, roulette or Pai Gow. Everyone knows about blackjack and roulette — but apparently a lot of people don’t know anything about the Pai Gow Poker game…
I can help though –found a nice guide on Pai Gow Poker Strategy at Mollis’ Poker Blog.
Good luck losing your money a little slower! :p
Yes you are T.J. Cloutier!
I like my poker cartoons, and I like it when people make fun of COMPLETE BATTY BOYS like T.J. Cloutier!

Gus Hansen is a sick man
We’ve all seen Mr. Gus Hansen do crazy stuff at the pokertable. He likes to gamble, even though he actually plays tight most of the time during the earlier stages of big tournaments.
Anyway, this is a perfect example of the craziness of Mr. Gus Hansen…
Antonio Esfandiari makes a great move against BIG STACK gus who I believe makes a big mistake being big in chips together with Antonio…
Mike Sexton doesn’t get it.
Have been losing a lot…
I have been putting off talking about this on my blog for quite some time — but for honesty reasons I’ve decided to include you in on one of the most stressful months for me ever as a poker player. I’ll keep it brief, and I won’t elaborate on any useless details, but I just feel like it’s fair I shared this…
I’ve been losing. I usually average one or two losing sessions a week, but over the month of April I’ve only had like 5 or 6 winning sessions. Only one big one, and 4 BIG losing sessions, losing well over 5 buy-ins.
It looks like I’ve hit a fork in the road in my life as a poker player, and it seems like for the first time ever I’ll be moving down the limits to allow my bankroll to (hopefully) recover.
It’s a painful thing to do, but no more $5/$10 for me for a couple months, I’m afraid.
Please pray for me. I need assistance from Up There.
Monks Playing Poker
Time to ban religion.
The sickest hand in High Stakes Poker history
Doyle Brunson is way off talking trash about Jamie Gold and Sam Farha in this hand. Both players played this hand like geniusses — thinking they’re trapping the other guy. Lovely poker, Doyle is getting old.
Guy wanted to be called Daniel Negreanu
I had the funniest day EVER at the pokertable yesterday. Some fool came in with an oversized Toronto Maple Leafs shirt, and about half an hour into the session he starts asking people to actually call him Daniel Negreanu.
He wanted US to call HIM Daniel Negreanu.
Believe me, he wasn’t Daniel Negreanu.
Sick people.
Even worse: one guy actually did call him Daniel Negreanu. Daniel-wannabe cleared him out. After the game I congratulated him on his tactics — he smiled and said: “people think I’m a mental patient, it works”.
Dude should play $100/$200 in stead of $2/$4.
Quad Kings for Phil Ivey
What do you do when you flop quad kings? Well, you try to keep your opponent in the hand and allow him to make the second or third nuts so he will call your big bet on the river…
The commentator of the Aussie Millions doesn’t really understand it I believe (he should go read Sklansky who wrote about this in a couple of his books), but it’s a good check on the flop, and a good just-call on the turn.
Phil Ivey, obviously a poker genius got unlucky that Jerry Fitt knew what he was doing…
And I go and launch my own poker blog…
Okay so a couple friends from my home poker game have all hosted their own poker blog thanks to Nagru.com (the guy that owns the webhost actually plays in the game too, which helps as he set up this blog for me too) — and I’m ready to start talking poker here…
This whole wordpress thing takes some getting used to but I’ll be fine — check back in a couple days for my first updates!
Thanks to Borja Fernandez & Nagru Webhosting. Entries and comments feeds.
